Getting away for the day 12/9/06

During the day today Hiroe went to the Koi place where she teaches. I went along just to get out of town, as it's about 45 minutes away. It's always nice to spent some time there, kind of therapeutic. All of these beautiful creatures leisurely passing time with each other.












It was feeding time and the larger fish get special treatement. Breakfast in bed, hand fed.












For a while, they seemed in the mood to pose.












I suppose this is the best a Koi can do to smile for the camera.

I asked this one to do something fun for the camera... He was short on ideas.













They have other animals there too.





































Then I decided to check out the lake area by their house. Seems people think the ice is safe, even though it was almost 50 F today.


























I always like a town by water. This was at a boat dealer that was out of business. Sad, but cool at the same time.






















I also found a chocolate shop in town. Must... stop... for... chocolate...












Their chocolates were huge. It took five bites to finish a truffle. Only in the States.
