shiny happy weekend 10/01/06

This weekend was beautiful in Minneapolis. We get these stretches of "Indian Summer" where it seems we're back at the beginning of June. It was 28 celsius and super sunny today. Last night we went to Hiroe's friends Carola and Frank's for dinner. Vika and Sergey were there too. There was fantastic food (thanks Frank and Carola!) and conversation. Later in the evening we checked out their home theater where the guys watched the intro to a sci-fi movie and the girls talked about something (girl things) in the other room. Hiroe asked what pictures I took during the evening... None, I replied. Sorry everyone. Next time I'll be sure to capture some. Carola, Vika, Frank, and Sergey consider yourself warned.
Today was the Twin Cities Marathon. As always it goes right past our house. We were awakened to the beating drums of supporters of the runners.












Everyone was in a great mood... very festive.












One of my assignments for class is capture motion. I tried.












I really liked this scene, but it was hard to capture since he was so close to me. I should have brought the remote so I could more easily capture this one without drawing attention to myself (why is that guy talking pictures of me??).












Seems that Batman decided to join the race again. Batman, Robin, and Superman ran it last year. I have a pitcure of them on the blog from last year. Except last year I think Batman was a girl.
