Claymation night 4/14/07

Last Saturday night a friend of mine had a claymation party. A novel idea, I thought. Never done claymation.
Playdough was provided. When I arrived the rest of the participants were shaping elaborate underwater figures. I immediately felt like there was no way I could compete with the mermaids and sea creatures in development. My true lack of claymation talent was about to become evident to the world. The table of creation:

Soon the claymation creation began. Here a giant white head with an attached fetus face decends on a post-claymation battle scene.

And the mermaid waited for her turn. She had very nice shell breasts, but could use a little help with her arm...

A little manipulation.

And lastly, my video. With a little sound help from the party host. Just click the arrow in the center of the image below to watch the instant classic.

Spring has sprung 4/13/07

Finally, it's getting warm outside. The snow is gone. The birds are chirping. And the dogs, well, they stare at you with those eyes that seem to say, "Do you have ANY idea how long it's been since you threw this thing for me? Huh? Well I do. It's been toooo long."

Once you throw the toy a few times, they take over and entertain themselves. We've decided Soba actually poses for the camera. I mean, that can't be a natural expression on her face.

Gnocchi usually goes for Soba's tail...

...unless he has the toy for himself. Especially that toy. Soba's two most favorite posessions in this world are the black toy in Gnocchi's mouth and her monkey. I don't have a photo (yet) of the monkey. Sorry.

girl's day... 4/15/07

Let's see, where to start. It's been a while since the blog has been updated. Maybe it's because I've been busy at work. Maybe it's because we were in that wierd time between winter and spring where not much of the great outdoors is photogenic. Maybe it was just time to take a small break. In the mean time a few things have been going on. Like celebrating Hina-matsuri, or girl's day. This is celebrated on March 5th. Though it was celebrated at our house a little later due to full schedules. To celebrate, Hiroe set up her Hina dolls that arrived from Japan last fall.
