A busy week 3/22/09

Every Wednesday Junior stays at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I think he gets attention the entire day... and is surrounded by lots of cool toys.

Grandpa reading a book for him.

Last weekend we went with Jim, Carola, and Sofia to The Local for breakfast. Junior got to wear his Chilean shirt.

Later that day we checked out the sculpture garden by the Walker Museum.

They're doing a little rehabilitation to the cherry from the spoon bridge. First time it's been off since the art work was installed.

Later we went through the Walker. Junior enjoyed it and seemed to like some of the art.

On Monday Hiroe and Junior went to tumbling class and Junior got to see his friend Eleanore again.

Later in the week Junior and Hiroe went to the Minneapolis Insititue of Art. Here's junior enjoying a piece by Nara Yoshimoto.

Update 3/11/09

Starting last week Junior and Hiroe joined a baby tumbling class in Edina. Here are a few shots from the first class...

Not sure... but below might be Junior's first love interest. I guess she only knows how to crawl backwards, which left Junior asking, "Wait, where are you going???"

The second class. He was a little less sure of the swing this time.

Here we are at the Chirashizushi meal prepared by Hiroe. It was excellent!

And a quick photo of us with Hiroe's girl's day dolls.

Now it's on to St. Patrick's day decorations. Maybe I should have included a Guiness in the photo.

Last weekend Hiroe signed up for skiing lessons. Initially she wasn't too excited about it.

Picking up the paperwork.

Renting the skis.

Trying them on.

And her instructor. It was a two day class with a personal instructor.

Staying cautiously in control.

Getting better.

Riding up the lift.

Starting to enjoy it.

Having a great time!

Oh, and the ski chalet had corn dogs too. Hiroe felt they were of quite high quality.

Meanwhile, out on the snowboard hill, some of the kids were catching air.

Back at home, Junior was checking out the outside activities. I think he, like his father, is sooo ready for spring. I hear it's coming in the next day or two.

Junior smile 3/1/09

Earlier posts suggest that Junior is a very serious child all of the time. Not true...

Weekly events 3/1/09

On Tuesday Junior spent the day at grandma and grandpas house. It was a good time for grandpa to show Junior the latest toy technology.

By mid week Junior had given Hiroe a few facial scratches. Notice the nice one on Hiroe's nose.

On Wednesday we had a family breakfast of pancakes.

Then on Friday we had a family dinner. Junior's Japanese side is really starting to show... he wanted my beer.

But he had to settle for water.

And some mama's milk. This reminded me of those television shows that have one person in front with the arms/hands of another person (behind) feeding the front person. Here's Hiroe's crazy stomach hand.

And on Saturday we visited another friend who just had a baby. The baby has the same race mixture as Junior yet he has sooo much dark hair. Hiroe and I were quickly reminded how much Junior has changed since he was born.

We also got some snow this week. Gnocchi loved it!
