Hiroe photos 7/15/07

In early July we went to a park by Lake Harriet so I could practice outdoor portraiture. The one area that I was concentrating on was interaction with the subject. While many might like a photo like the one below, Hiroe didn't like it because she doesn't think her smile is natural. Her thought is that it looks forced.

She said the one below has the same problem.

Worse yet, the following can occur if the subject isn't "into" the situation.

So, the best thing is to tailor the photo to the individual. Let them be themselves. Hiroe approved of the next photo. She said her smile is natural in this one. Not sure if that means we can frame this one and hang it over the fireplace.
